As innovation is a collection of a large number of aspects and variables, measuring it cannot be done with one variable or indicators, but a collection of indicators, which are called a Scoreboard. Innovation scoreboards summarise different types of indicators that are related to the innovation process. Scoreboards are often used to compare the innovation performance among countries, region or sectors.
