Egyptian researchers and entrepreneurs with an innovative technology project took part in THE NEXT SOCIETY Technology Transfer bootcamp to learn what it takes to access market and funding opportunities. From September 22th to 24th, the Bootcamp, organised in Cairo (Egypt) by our partner TIEC, aimed at turning research and innovation projects that are close to markets, to potential viable business projects covering the essentials means to develop a business model for their ideas.

THE NEXT SOCIETY - 18 MENA clusters gathered at the FILEX Forum
THE NEXT SOCIETY organised the 1st International Business Development Mission specially designed for clusters in the MENA region. On September 13th, in Paris, as part of the France Clusters FILEX Forum, the event brought together a delegation of 18 cluster managers and entrepreneurs benefiting from THE NEXT SOCIETY. The participants discussed the inter-cluster cooperation on the large Mediterranean area, as a means of supporting the economic development of companies and the territory.

THE NEXT SOCIETY Technology Transfer Bootcamp (Lebanon)
The Bootcamp was organised by Berytech, partner of THE NEXT SOCIETY, at Berytech Innovation Park Mar Roukoz in Beirut, Lebanon, from 10 to 12 April 2019. The Bootcamp’s program was focused on teamwork, networking, mentoring sessions with international and local experts, learning, applied knowledge and exchange of expertise. It aimed at helping the participants explore market, funding, commercialization and business opportunities and develop a valid business model for their innovation models.

Third Annual Conference THE NEXT SOCIETY
The third annual conference of the initiative was held on June 20, 2019, in Cairo, Egypt. Organised by TIEC in its premises, it gathered all partner organisations and presented the main achievements, challenges and successes after two years of implementation. This was also the occasion for everyone to share local experiences, discuss the regional dynamic and also how to better connect start-ups clusters, industries, investors and academia.

Soft landing by THE NEXT SOCIETY allows start-ups, clusters and innovation stakeholders from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia to get short term business support from a European network of soft-landing hubs providers.
Some of THE NEXT SOCIETY start-ups already landed softly in the European market & tested their solutions thanks to our partner EBN Innovation Network.

The 2nd Innovators Academy in Tunis
On 23 and 24 April 2019 in Tunis, EBAN - the European Business Angel Network and APII, the Tunisian Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation, with the support of ANIMA Investment Network, B@Labs and CONECT, organised the 2nd Innovators Academy of the THE NEXT SOCIETY initiative. This event launched the acceleration programme for the 2nd promotion of Start-up Booster Track entrepreneurs and the 1st Tunisian promotion of researcher-entrepreneurs accompanied by the Tech Transfer Booster Track.
