An innovative sustainable animal and plastic-free leather made from agro-industrial food waste

TANMU develops alternative materials based on bacterial cellulose, biofabricated by local bacteria fed by household, agrifood and agriculture industry wastes.
It aims to replace fossil-fuels in packaging with a biodegradable material and a good quality substitute for leather. The start-up protects animal life and unlike existing vegan leather, it is 100% plastic free. Their concept consists of reducing carbon footprint and water usage.
Tanmu joined THE NEXT SOCIETY community in 2020 through the Tech Booster bootcamp in Algeria.
